I got a Savage Dragon Statue for cheap, 40. Had a broken fin, resculpted the fin, spray painted white with citadel spray paint. Repainted the whole statue from a white base over a few weeks. Then sprayed blood to finish him. One of my favorite characters, the Scarlet Spider in background was also a broken statue, he lost an arm, that I resculpted and painted. I thought the original statue had a dull paint job and was excited when I got the chance to paint it my own style. I think all the little details came out more visible than the original statue, but that's just me...
