Sharles traveled to Earth to join Legion. During his tryout, he was upstaged by Polar Boy's entrance; breaking his concentration and was unable to continue. The Legionnaires thanked him politely, but rejected him. Energy Boy, humbled returned to his home world of Ventura. Funny thing is that ventura is a latin word for adventure, so his home planet must be pretty awesome. Good thing he didn't kept a grudge at Polar Boy and then becoming a villain!!
