Whew Wow this took a long time. Ok so I know I know people have done it before blah blah blah. I wanted a Jack Nicholson Joker figure to go with 1989 Batman figure,so here we are. It took a while, wanted him to be as acurate as possible with the checked trousers, butler long tail coat, flower etc. So I bought a Mr Pink from Resivoir dogs as I thought he'd work well based on the reviews I had seen etc. The only issue with it was the head of Steve Buschemi which was way too big and initially I thought I could shrink it a bit or something but the overall head was too much and I didn't like it's swivel joint. So when I decided to buy a Ocelot figure from Metal Gear Solid in 6 inch scale I though I can work with that. I was mistaken. I needed the revolvers he came with as I was going to make 2 Joker guns, a 'BANG!' gag one (still working on that) and the iconic long barrelled one he used to take down the Batwing (In theory the same gun just telescopic but who can be bothered to make that in this scale withut it looking dumb or paint damage?). I also used Ocelot's hands as they were a better size for Mr J and he wears gloves most of the time, but didn't bother painting them purple as they look fine to me as they are. So I took the suit from Mr Pink, cut off the bottom coat portion and started painting the legs. I painted blue lines vertically, then purple between, then took a darker blue and carried on the plaid pattern horizzontaly and finally filled in the gaps with a darker purple. The hardest part came next where I have to paint thin black lines between every square as that's how his trousers look. So I did that vertically then horizontally and yeah that took a while. His shoes only the top parts are purple. I cut out from a rubbery plastic the two collar parts to the suit and then sculpted the weistcoat, the buttons, rescupted the tie and sculpted the bow at the top and merged the suits collar closing all gaps. The Flower was intereting. I took a lolly stick and glued it on him and planed to do something like use a playmobile flower to go around. instead I ended up scuplting the whole darn thing and came out well, then took a Ribena green straw, cut of a bit and cut vertically up the part and folded over to make thinner and glued it in the lolly hole for the 'stigma' or 'spray hose spout'. Insane? I thought I was a Pices. Moving on as you can see the head sculpt took a while. I took Prince Nuada's head from Hellboy II as I have doubles due to buying in bulk and removed his rubbery hair piece. I filled in the gap in his head and began sculpting. SEE THE GALLERY OF PROGRESSION IN THE PICS I've PROVIDED. Went well, had a look at some pictures, realised his forhead was too small etc so scalped part of the hair I made and started improving. Got the result I wanted and Yeah pretty happy with it. I intend to get some varnish to smooth his skin texture then go over with a thinner white paint to get a more natural smooth skin look, but yeah that's it. Takes a while to do, fun sculpting. I wanted to give him a buzzer but his hands are there to grip the gun so not sure what to do there. He has a hat a cane a gun and alternative hands so fair amount of accessories. Painting his head I did initially all in black for the first head sculpt but wasn't necessary. The final figure ended up with resulpted nose, eyebrows, forehead, hairline mouth, cheeks etc oh and I had to sculp the teeth, sure I used Nuada's head coz he had an open mouth but his teeth were rubbish and look like bugs bunny's! For painting it was important to do the skin white with grey lines for detail in the wrinkles I sculpted, ruby red lips and hair colour so natural, sorry losing track again with quotes... so I did the hair VERY dark brown, then Dark Green then a lighter Green. His eyes are a brownish green as Jokers eyes are often green but Nicholson's are brown so did them brown but with a tint of green. I had black around his eyes but included red on his eye lids.

Now for BATMAN. Easy enough, did my usual cape escapades with the ironing, tracing, sowing etc. So for this one all I had to do was pop his head off (which is really easy its a ball joint so no breaking) trace the cape and leave excess at the top, Iron into shape, sow a metal wire into it from figure packaging wires and pop onto the figure. I also glued the cowl's spines onto the bends in the cape as it should be. I might glue the broach onto his chest, haven't decided yet. I repainted his eyes the blue green Keaton has in the close ups and added pupils obviously.

Hope youy like and enjoy the photo's!

Thanks everyone, yeah took a while, no idea exact time but I didn't lose interest or get irritated with this custom. My Dain Ironfoot custom was a stop start stop start process , this one flowed pretty easily and probably took around a week or something. Bought the base figure planned ahead and just ran with it. Few bumps like figuring out what head to use etc but got threre etc but yeah finished him a few days before my Keaton Batman figure arrived so with that one just got to work and finished that in an hour or two.
