Hi All,

Vader is from Bandai and is made straight out of the box, the cape and inner robe are cut from some material I picked up from the local craft store.

The base is also from the kit and I used balsa wood around the edges. The lave was done by using Woodland Scenics Water Effects it was left to dry for 2 hours. Once dry I painted the lava by using the following technic.

1 - painted the lava white and let dry, usually two - three coats will do.
2 - drybrushed over the white with bright yellow.
3 - drybrushed over the yellow with bright orange.
4 - drybrushed then with bright red.
5 - drybrushed then with dark brown.
6 - drybrushed then with matt black then leave it for an hour to completely dry.
7 - Once dry mix a 50/50 mix of bright yellow and bright orange and then give the lava a wash of the 50/50 mix and then leave to dry for 20 minutes.
8 - last brush Woodland Scenics Water over the lava to give it a more gloss/glowing look.
