Another Hellboy. I wanted to go for more of a comic look with this one, sort of a hybrid anime style. After casting the movie Hellboy head, I decided to sculpt the comic style over one of the casts. After sculpting that, I molded and cast the new head, then sculpted the angry face with that. After sculpting that, I mold and cast it too.
The neck down was from a combination of a few revolmini figure parts I have left over. Sculpted the shorts, then I used the Iron Man joints I had left over from Deathstroke some time back, so I could ensure no paint flake while posing.
Like the previous Hellboy, I sculpted the belt and added a GI Joe belt coupling piece so I could make it removable. Since I wanted this one to have a more animated feel, I used a cast I made of a Vash the Stampede revoltech gun, and cut and sculpted some to make for a better Hellboy feel. Again, I used heat shrink wrap for the holster and heated it up over an extra gun cast so I could form it to the gun, but not damage the finished gun in the process.
As with the previous Hellboy also (I forgot to mention in the last recipe) I sculpted the tail with some green stuff, then cut and drilled to install some revoltech joints for an extra posable tail. The feet/hooves were sculpted also.
As I've mentioned before, I'm a big fan of the revolmini figures, and they always make for a great base figure for a good extra articulated figure. I wish the revoltech joints would hold paint better, so there wouldn't be such a mix and match sort of thing when it comes to customizing, but I can't complain since they really are quite easy to break down and mix up parts.
I'm quite happy with how the head sculpts and casts came out, so I see myself knocking out a few more Hellboy customs down the line.
