This was a spur of the moment diorama I decided to do, being a huge fan of the Bioshock series. The goal was to create a Bioshock: Infinite style diorama, namely a city block, which I feel I was able to do pretty well. Overall, the diorama is about Z-Scale size, so it is small and fits in palm of your hand. Combined with the base I chose specifically for this project, the city block actually floats. The whole project consists of the city block, a smaller stand and a larger base. The stand and the base are both magnetic and when the bigger base is plugged into a power source, the smaller stand can be positioned above it so that it can float in the magnetic field. The city block can then be placed on the stand and, if the user so wishes, with a little push, the stand can even rotate. The city block was built on a plastic circle. The brick floor detail was a texture printed on card stock, shaped and glued down. The buildings are Z scale pieces bought online, assembled, painted and glued on. Everything else was bits and pieces I found that I felt would top the diorama off. A lot of small work, but I'm happy with it! ![]() |
