Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical version of The Phantom of the Opera, with lyrics by Charles Hart and Richard Stilgoe, is a piece of storytelling I've always been enthralled with. Lloyd Webber and the musical's creative team refashioned the French Gothic Horror novel by Gaston Leroux into a lush, sweeping and yes, delightfully cheesy romantic spectacle. I've seen the musical several times and hope to see it again.

I used Mad Love Joker as a base figure, with unmasked movie Captain America for the head and hands from Sydney Savage. Sculpted on a mask, sculpted the shirt and the bowtie and modified the coattails. The Phantom has very expressive hands, so that made it a challenge and I'm glad I found Sydney Savage hands in my fodder bin. I also sculpted the deformed lip, and wanted to make the Phantom very pale, as per Michael Crawford's original stage makeup. Also, he's a guy who's spent his whole life underground, so he probably doesn't get a lot of Vitamin D. The music stand comes from a Charmed figure, I think it was Phoebe, and the rose is made from a toothpick and apoxie. Thanks for looking, and surrender to the music of the night!
