I've been working on a line of Hasbro inspired wrestling figures for UK promotion Discovery Wrestling using rubber moulds and liquid resin. At a recent show they were hosting Ring of Honor heavyweight champion JAY LETHAL. I decided to take the opportunity to make a custom Jay Lethal figure and present it to the man himself (which he loved) but also made a duplicate to sell which he kindly signed. The "recipe" is a Hasbro Rick Martel torso and arms, which I cast in a rubber mould. The legs are from a MR Perfect figure which I'd previously cast. I sculpted knee and kick pads and recast the new design. Then I sculpted the head from scratch and made a mould of that. Both figures were then painted using a variety of acrylic paints then sealed with a durable spray varnish. As this is made from cast parts it no longer has the "real wrestling action" Hasbro wrestling figures were famous for... but I'm working on it :D ![]() |
