Robin Arkham City (Batman - Arkham City) Custom Action Figure
So I got a pack about a year or two ago which Include's Robin and he's the only one without any accessories. Guess that's what happens when you're a boy blunder, anywho, I took the staff from a 6" Deathstroke based off Origins, and set to work on customising my figure. To start with the cape, I think his cape is nice compared to the big cumbersome Bat-Cape's, but I like me a challenge and so I set to work. I did a whole tutorial on posable cape's using this figure as the model, so I won't go into down the details too much as it's on my profile (not a cry for attention... OH GOD I'M SO LONELY XD). In short I made a posable cape by sketching out a desing on paper, tracing that onto two ironed cloth pieces I cut into the correct shapes(one yellow one black), sowed them together and inserted a wire and voila. Obviously I had to attach the cape so I cut a hole in and used the top portion of the cape to allow the hood to still be used. I also filled the hole in his head (having removed the hood) and painted and glued over etc. I added some Bat gauntlet spikes as I think Robin is lacking in stuff and that's something he SHOULD have for combat (Knightwins fine hes got his electric batons). So yeah the next thing was the Shield. Now this I have supplied photo's for and a description, it takes a while but when you are skilled in the art of stacking plastic on top of each other layer by layer like 3D printing without wasting a couple of grand... Sorry where was I. Yeah so I made the shield out of plastic sheets from old toy boxes and a lolly stick, rubber tubes and clay as usual. I think it turned out nice. My only major problamo is the articulation I suppose but ehh it's ok and I cannot be bothered to sort it as I'd need more part and eh I'm at peace with it. So yeah enjoy and if this doesn't get 10 comments I will eat myself XD Please wait... |

Comic Panels are fun: Explosive Gel (maybe for insurance... no not fraud I mean as a back up plan), picking up Batman's belt when he went missing and strike a pose/ glide.
'Lights our Bird Brain...Huh?!' WHAM!
Harley Quinn wasn't counting on Robin's pop out shield
Dynamic uh posing and the screen shot profile pic bottom right of Robin
Pic's of the process the evolution
Paper then sharpie trace on clear plastic 3 times (one for back, one for the pole spine parts and one for the front layer of hanf fan looking panels. Then theres two round cylander parts: just a rubbery part from figure packaging shaved down one side flat, glued on and cut a gap so you can slide the pole into place. Hope this is enough to go by, my methods are usually reference, sketch, trace, make. Paining was just base coat of black, then darn silver and dry brushing lighter silver.
