That's sick man, I've been looking for a cheap Highbrow/Powerdive to repaint the metal parts like that, but no luck so far.

Do lacquer paints work equally well on all parts of a Transformer? Are they substantially more durable than acrylics?

Thanks. Lacquer paints by Mr. Hobby + their thinner are substantially stronger against wear than acrylics. Top that with their brand of clear spray (gloss or matte) and you get a very durable surface. For moving parts, you still need to prep them (sanding, filing, or shaving it lower), but it eliminates incidental paint scratches when other parts of the figure brush against each other.

Be wary though - soak the plastic with too much thinner and it weakens it to the point of breaking. It's a fine balance.
