Admittedly, I'm not a fan of the designs really old comic characters had, but this guy I do like, so he was fun to make.

•Sculpted most of the details. I tried foam for the belt and shoulder pads and it worked well. The headband was plain and boring in reference pictures so I segmented it to be more interesting. The hair was a good lesson; sculpt the final shape of the hair, then use a round tool (like the head of a pin) to make a bunch of small shallow indents in the clay. Keep denting it until you're happy with the texture.

•Full repaint by hand, I only left the face alone and matched the skintone for the arms and legs. It was simply one of the browns I have with a little red mixed in, painted over grey primer.

Let me know if he's missing anything, ref pics are all screwy.

Are you still making this figure? If so, how much can you sell it for?

Nice figures. What is the average cost? Do you sell them? If so, where at? Put it on eBay.

Nice. I have a soft spot for the All-Star Squadron and Will was one of the first customs I ever attempted. Will have to remember that pinhead trick.

Maybe even a sponge would work, like a texture stamp. It's fun discovering the kinds of textures you can get using only a few (and very cheap!) tools though

Very nice sculpt and great paint application! I agree with what you said about old comic character designs. I was thinking of doing a Rockman one day because I kinda like his look.

Did a quick search, that guy has a cool look! I like digger/miner themed characters. I'd make the more modern version though, just because it's more interesting to look at while keeping the overall original aesthetic.
