I love Gatchaman. Even enjoyed the live action movie. I've wanted to do a full set for ages, but my searches for other heads have been in vain. I would settle for a Jun head, honestly. If I could only knock out the main three, I'd find myself content in that. But, anyway. I've been wanting to remake them for a while, but the Microman figure for Ken keeps getting more expensive. And I find the classic colors for Joe a bit annoying. Black just makes more sense. And apparently Tatsunoko agrees. I missed the preorder, but they're coming out with a 7" black variant for Joe. Looks amazing, and I felt inspired to try a take in the smaller build, but with the classic suit design. Sculpted up the gloves and the top of the boots, then added a little sculpt to the front of Cap's belt. Head came from a Gashapon figure. Cut it and dremeled it out to fit. From there, a full repaint with black on the helmet, gloves, boots, and belt, and a gunmetal shade on the body itself. Very hard to notice the difference in the images, but the body does have a bit more shine in hand. The cape was from the Microman figure. Had one left, and decided to try it out for once. Removed the color and cut away a bunch of the top. Then glued it to his back and blended it with some sculpt. Wanted it to look more like it was a part of the suit itself. Tedious little project, but definitely my favorite take on Joe to date.
