Gambit (Marvel Legends) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:78943
Name:Gambit
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Marvel Legends
Creator:TXT
Date Added:January 1, 2016
Base Figure:Cyclops
Height:6.00 inches
Completion Time:17.00 hours
Finished this back in June 2015.
The only sculpting involved doing the neck piece and the 'belt' thing. The pink torso armour was given a dark fuchsia base coat, and then dry brushed with metallic pink, which looks fantastic but doesn't show up well in the photos. The metallic blue parts were done in a similar fashion, and then all were glazed in a gloss coat to bring out the shine.
I swapped the old Toybiz Gambit lower armoured legs at the knee joint, which were NOT a simple swap, requiring extensive dremel work, and still are a bit too loose. I glued the knee piece on. But he looks fantastic in my collection, although I hope Hasbro will make one some day!

Recipe:

Head - Marvel Select Gambit cast (shrunken)
Torso & upper legs - NOW Cyclops
Arms & coat - Ultimate Nick Fury
Lower legs - Toybiz Gambit

Thanks for looking

Looks great!!! I used the almost exact same recipe, and also had difficulty getting the knees to fit. Didn't have to dremel them, though. Think I just put them on upside down if I remember correctly. Anyway, great custom. Looks soooooo much better than the Toybiz version.

Yeah, I finished mine back in July of last year, and was about to post it when Loosecollecter posted his version, and quite frankly I felt my effort wasn't worthy to even appear next to that masterpiece. Gonna probably throw it on here with a few of my X-Men customs soon, though.

Yeah do it man, it's cool to see your work and I agree his work is in such another league, but shouldn't put us off from posting our work! Will be cool to see what you come up with.
