This is the nursery rhyme from the Court of Owls series of books. I highly recommend picking them up. If you aren't much of a reader, the animated movie is also not so bad.

The inspiration for this figure came from the Court of Owls comic book series. I LOVED IT.
As an action figure enthusiast, I wanted to start building a small army of Talons, but they only officially released the Greg Capullo one (which is awesome), and the one from the animated movie (which is kinda OK). Reading the stories, you'll notice that every single Talon looks VERY different from the next one, apart from the basic hood. So an honest person can't make an entire army of Talons by just picking up a handful of the Capullo figure.

I did my first fully successful attempt at casting a head with this one. I made a hard cast of the Capullo Talon head, and grafted it onto a WWE Defining Moments Sting figure. Sting had some cool sculpt that I tried to take advantage of with bronze brushwork. I imagine Dmitry as being from about the 1960's era of Talon originally, just because his equipment is more modern looking. A lot of the brushwork looks better in person than in the photos. I'm new to customizing; I'm also new to taking quality pictures of action figures! They are both more difficult than they might appear to be.
