The Princess Bride is easily one of my favorite movies, so while I have the cult classics bug going on, I couldn't resist making a Dread Pirate Roberts. Well, nobody would surrender to the Dread Pirate Wesley! He turned out being an inconceivable (couldn't resist) amount of work. I wanted both heads to match up pretty well and I had couple of Steve Rogers on hand, so I sculpted the mask and bandana on one of them and slapped some hair on the other. I transplanted hair from an MU Captain Marvel head, and sculpted some extra locks to fit the mask less Wesley. The ponytails were from the pigtails I recently lopped off of an MU Valkyrie. The prince of persia figures have some awesome sculpts for customizing, but unfortunately the joints suck on a massive scale. I popped off the arms(entirely too easily) and drilled out the torso so I could make new arm connections, sculpted down the storm shadow sleeves to make them a bit more puffy, and put them together with the body. Also, sculpted the collar and laces amd such to the shirt. The crotch section and legs came from some build n brawl fodder I had left, so I made a new waste connection to keep the articulation in place and attached the BlackBeard boots to the legs. Then, I sculpted the sash and cut down the belt from a lord of the rings figure. The sword was some random pirates of the Caribbean accessory, cut and sliced a bit. This is among one of my personal favorites to date, just because I have a lot of love for the movie, and Wesley is such a great character. I'd like to make a few more characters from the movie, especially Inigo, but it may be a bit before I can get to them. I really hope this figure does this incredible movie some justice, and if you haven't seen The Princess Bride, I couldn't recommend it enough.
