This is my own take on Gambit from the X-Men. The Marvel Select Gambit was a good figure but I wanted it to have more articulation so I decided to make another one. I used the staff and throwing card accessories of the Marvel Select Gambit but on a different figure, a Neca Devil May Cry Dante. I modified the head by adding hair from Hyperion with some sculpting and repainted. This new Gambit fits well with the Marvel Select scale (with Marvel Select Magneto and Marvel Select Sabretooth).
I could have sworn I already commented on this bad boy! Congrats on the win, I love this Gambit, perfect redesign bro! I've been wanting that Neca Dante for his head and Jacket for a while now to do Gambit or Blade, was gonna mix in some Legends parts though.
Thank you Toycooker! It was another nice contest to be in together with your great entry, Namor. And you're right, the Neca Dante's coat would work very well for a Blade, looking forward to seeing what you make with it.
This is such an awesome look for Gambit! Very very smart choice for a base on this, and with the flawless paintjob to boot! This has to be one of the best Gambit figures out there! Beautiful work, man. Love the pics too.
Thank you for your kind words Rayne74, and glad you really liked the pictures too. I first saw the base figure years ago in a Toy Fare Magazine as an upcoming release and immediately thought of a Gambit custom. Then it was delayed several years by Neca, and only released this year. So I actually had the idea in mind for a very long time.
Assyle_PMA thank you! Your movie Wolverine looked incredible so I know your movie Starlord with this base will be the best custom of Starlord we will see. Great idea!
Ricky! You have really come into your own, bro. I remember making customs for you and now look at how far you have come. Most clever! You should go back and update all your customs so people can see them. I missed a lot of your great work because it was hidden in the contests.
