Mademoiselle Marie was a French Resistance member during World War II. She often fought alongside Sgt. Rock and eventually became his love interest. Prior to Crisis on Infinite Earths she even had a daughter with Alfred Pennyworth but that hasn't seemed to be in continuity since then. In modern continuity it was revealed that Mademoiselle Marie was a codename given to French Intelligence agents, even going so far as to having a modern Mademoiselle Marie as a member of Checkmate. But for me there's only one Mlle. Marie, and the modern warfare comics never held the same interest for me as the silver and copper age war stories.

I'd actually hoped to have her finished by Veteran's Day as I thought she'd be cool to unveil on a special holiday like that. Unfortunately though that didn't happen, but after recent events I'm even more happy to have her in my collection to serve as a reminder that France was America's very first ally.

Mlle. was made using a DCUC Raven body, some swapped out hands, and a skirt made from moldable plastic. I didn't think the frilly Supergirl or Mary Marvel skirts looked quite right so I went ahead and made my own. It restricts her movements somewhat but at the same time she's going on a shelf so leg articulation isn't my biggest concern. Her head is a Funko Evolve Val head with just the beret repainted (worked out well that the eye and hair color were the same). I couldn't tell you a thing about Game of Thrones, Evolve, or Magic the Gathering, but I love how compatible these Funko figures are with DCUC and ML. And they usually have a lot of removable pieces and accessories. So the bandolier also came from that Evolve figure while belt is from a DCUC Kamandi.

Now poor Sarge doesn't look so lonely and out of place amongst my other DCUC figures and customs.

Thanks for looking!

Vive la France! Vive la Mademoiselle!
