Happy Back to the Future Day, Realmers! October 21st 2015 is finally here and I wanted to make something to bring along to a BTTF marathon screening party my friend is throwing today. I was heavily inspired by Toyguru's Marty McFly figure; JTMovie adopted a similar recipe. Han Solo base, with upper arms and head from Star Trek '09 Chekhov, lower legs from a prototype Harvey Dent figure and sneakers from a Heroes Claire Bennet. Lots of dremelling and sculpting, including sculpting on most of the clothing. The red/orange "life preserver" vest was sculpted on top of Han's vest. The shoes are connected to the lower legs by joints from a Japanese hobby shop. I don't think the likeness is great, but it was the closest I could find in the 'ol bin of heads. It turns out that Anton Yelchin has been suggested as an actor who might be able to play Marty in a hypothetical BTTF remake. I dremelled off the original hair and sculpted on a new hairdo. This threw me for a loop or two so I don't think I'll be doing the 2015 look, nor Doc or Biff. Thanks for looking!

Thank you! This was back before NECA made official Back to the Future figures, which definitely have a much better likeness to the actors.

Great work on Marty!!!!!! What color or colors of paint did u use for the jeans ??? and shirts??

Thanks! I mixed blue and white for the shirt. I mixed blue and light grey for the jeans, then I did a white wash over the light blue. A wash is when you dilute the paint, brush it on, then wipe off the excess. It's a way to create the denim effect. The brand of paint I use is Tamiya Acrylics, but those are sometimes a little too thick and need to be thinned out with Tamiya thinner. I hope I was able to help!

You're most welcome, your take on Marty was far better, especially since I didn't make any accessories. He was challenging to figure out but it was really satisfying when it came together.

Looks Fantastic! This is very cool and movie accurate. Of course it would be a great movie based custom since the movie reviews that you write are always excellent too. The Darth Vader pic you have there is great! The Back to the Future series is one of the best movie trilogies, and this looks like an official movie figure. "Gotta go back in time!"

Superb. Why can't I find decent Back to the Future figures on my shelf? That's MY fave childhood trilogy. But nope all the stores are full of the bland Star Wars stuff. Anyways this is a great custom!
