I made Katana from a Captain Marvel figure, and honestly I couldn't be happier with how she turned out. I loved Tatsu so much in Arrow that I absolutely could not live without adding her to my shelf, problem is the only Arrow figures are tons of variations of Oliver, a couple of dudes, and both Canary's, there isn't even a Helena figure! In Arrow she was the first woman in a mask and the second vigilante in Starling City, it's despicable!

So anyway, I took the Captain Marvel figure and a Black Widow head from TWS (I used the short hair variant since I wanted to keep the long haired one, if I had another one of the better head I would have used that one because that hair would have been perfect for Katana!) After I had all the pieces I had to get started.

I began the sculpting with the head, taking on the mask and hair. I made the mask with a circular tipped sculpting tool to fix up the eye holes and the bottom of the mask, I even used it to perfect the red dot. After that I put the hair over it. Each strand was individually sculpted, and I tried my best to make them all blend together. Once I was all done with the head I began sculpting the body. I sculpted the end of the glove first, and then did the straps. For the other hand I used a thin strips and used the same tool from before to round out the inside where her skin starts. For all the padding (the chest and arms) I sculpted lines and then laid them together using a tool with a flat end for the black lines in the between the thicker textured lines. For the texture of the padding I used a tool that has a lot of wire at the end, and for the red stocked I used a thin metal stick with a curve at the end. The top of the boots was really simple, just sort of stuck some stuff on there and smoothed the edges out using a couple of my tools.

When I finished all the sculpting I painted katana with citadel paint that I purchased at my comic shop. To finish her off I used a dull coat spray!
