My second custom I'm bringing you is Luke Cage. For the base of this guy I used a WWE elite HBK with a Bobby Lashley head. When I was looking through my fodder the head just reminded me of a picture I saw of Luke Cage deflection bullets violently from his body and I thought it would be perfect to try out the hot glue gun blasts I saw on a tutorial by the awesome Jin Saotome.

I began by sculpting the bullet impact points by placing dots of milliput onto the body and pressing into the centre. Some I drilled through, ready to place the deflection blasts into and others I left to just represent where a bullet had torn through the clothes; at this point I also sculpted the goatee beard. I then coated the whole figure in Citadel chaos black and used several shades of blue for the jeans and grey for the shirt, which I finished with a shade wash. For the skin tone I used Tamiya XF-52. The deflection blasts were made from hot glue and painted with Tamiya clear yellow, orange and red before being superglued into place.

This guy is pure badass! First of all, where did he get his powers? In jail of course, in a botched experiment. When the sadistic prison guard Albert “Billy Bob” Rackham ramped up the power in an effort to injure or even kill Cage, how did he react? He got tougher! Cage has superhuman strength, can withstand the blast from 150 pounds of TNT, is impervious to extreme temperatures and electric shocks. If that isn't enough his skin is as hard as steel; he can withstand close range gun fire without a scratch...he is bulletproof! What if Cage gets appendicitis! I hear you cry (not likely, his appendix can probably bench more than you!), how will you operate? Well his skin can be cut...WITH AN OVERPOWERED MEDICAL LASER! and then he'd recover three times faster than a normal human.

Cage battled his way through the The Baxter Building and past the entire Fantastic Four to borrow a jet, fly around the world to the dangerous nation of Latveria, punch the Villian Faceless man in the face and save Vicktor Von Doom. And why? To collect the $200 that Doom owed him of course. I myself destroyed 7 diamond coated drill bits just to create this custom and I'm pretty sure he's staring me down from his position on the shelf right now.
