Look at what's happened to me,
I can't believe it myself.
Suddenly I'm up on top of the world,
It should've been somebody else

When teacher Ralph Hinkley's bus full of students breaks down in the desert, he decides to walk for help (it was the 80's so he didn't have a cellphone). Along the way he runs into FBI Agent Bill Maxwell and the two of them are visited by an alien spacecraft. The aliens give Ralph a special suit that will allow him various powers and an instruction manual. Ralph is told that he must collaborate with Maxwell to stop some great disaster that was coming. Unfortunately, Ralph quickly loses the manual and most therefore learn on the fly, literally.

Kids today are so spoiled. We didn't have DVRs or Netflix to watch superhero shows whenever we wanted, and there weren't even a ton to choose from back in the early 80's even if we wanted to. But "The Greatest American Hero" was always one of my favorites.

I picked up the Batman '66 Riddler almost two years ago now because I thought it'd make the perfect body for Ralph. But that hair? How could I possibly recreate the wonderful blonde curling locks? So I waited. And so it was unintentionally that I finally found my solution. When Target began marking down the Funko Game of Thrones figures I picked up a bunch for fodder. And as anyone who's bought one before might know, parts don't stay glued on too well. So as I removed Jon Snow from his plastic coffin, his hair fell off. And it was loose in my hand that I noticed those black curls, even the little one that would curldown just above the right eye, and I immediately knew what I could use it for. I guess you could say it 'it hit me from out of the blue' (see the shows theme lyrics, lol).

So began the journey. Using '66 Riddler body, a DCSH Supergirl cape, and that Funko hair, I just needed a head. I'm not sure this was the greatest choice, but it came closest with what I had to choose from (originally I tried a DCIE Ralph Dibny head but didn't care for it). This head was a cast I bought a while ago that I thought might work for an unmasked Peter Merkel head, but I never used it. I'm pretty sure it's actually one of the Marvel Legends X-23 heads. The rest was paint and sculpt.

But I couldn't make Ralph without also making Bill Maxwell, so be sure to check out my Robert Culp custom too!

"Who could it be? Believe it or not, it's just me..."

Thanks for looking!

It's that middle picture. His eyes look crossed and uneven as all heck for some reason in that one, but in the other two, he's gorgeous.

Ha. Gotcha. Didn't really notice that. Not sure what happened with the lighting there. Optical illusion.
