This week, I'm running through the Defenders. I've been wanting to do these guys for ages. I'm so excited for the Netflix series to get here, and as a concept they certainly seem more proactive than the Avengers. lol Bad joke. Anyway. We've gotten most of the team officially released already, but there's still a ton that we haven't gotten yet. So, I wanted to touch on a few of those. And we start off with a character I actually forgot was a member. Apparently she was on the team for quite a while, but I spaced on it. It's one of those backstories I love, too. On a road trip with her parents, they spotted Thanos' ship. He didn't like that, so he blew them up. Anger issues. She survived, and was later taken to Titan, Thanos' home planet, by his father, Mentor. She was trained by monks in martial arts, and learned how to tap into her psychic powers. She came back to Earth, made a lot of people really mad as she pit them against each other in experimental battles, then realized she wasn't exactly a good person. Gained redemption, joined the Defenders, and then other things. Whew. Never really been a huge fan of hers. lol For fixing her up, I swapped out the head for Aurora, removed the hair, added ears from Cap, then rounded out the top with sculpt. Topped off with a cape from an Infinite Heroes Bloodwynd, full repaint, and done! And I have to say, I think this is the smoothest paint job I have ever done. I have no clue what made it come out so much better than any of my others, but I love it.
