“Alright, Warpath! This should be an easy kit bash”, I said to myself. “I’ll have him done in a couple weeks!”

Well, that was the plan, until my OCD kicked in and this became yet another 2 month project where I poured as much detail into this guy as I possibly could. The recipe is pretty simple:

Head: MU Warpath
Body: MU Hercules

But then looking at the figure and his gloriously chiseled Greek physic, he was just way too shredded for the look I was going for. So I decided to subtly smooth out his definition and sculpt tiny folds and details to make it looks like he’s actually wearing, well, something, rather than the painted-on look most Hasbro toys take on these days. Are these figures going into battle or to a party at the Playboy mansion?

I also sculpted the his wrist straps, boots and belt from scratch and made fully functional custom sheaths for his knives which attach to the back of his belt with a tiny magnet.

I then wrapped him up with a fancy semi-gloss/matte paint job and used LMF for the first time. I really like the end result but there was definitely some trial and error that took place while using the product.

I also got tired of shooting my figures on a plain black background so I threw together that little rocky outcrop base.

Awesome work Tom! Seriously you can always see the amount of love you pour into your customs. Paying attention to even the most minute detail Btw what's LMF? Is that some kind of sealant?

Thanks dude. Liquid Masking Film. I use it so I could airbrush the red parts and get super crisp lines.

Hmm.... I looked it up and it seems like it would be a pain when you start to peel it. Especially since your undercoat will probably get scraped up in the process and peeled a little.

The biggest pain came from peeling it in and around the joints. If you're careful and you seal your paint before you apply the LMF, you should be ok when peeling it off. But, I have a high tolerance for mental anguish.
