After the quick headswap, I came to the unfortunate surprise that once I sanded Batman's ears down there were two huge holes. The head then had to be filled and sanded, which turned this from a one day project to more like a week!! There were also bare feet which had to be sanded.
Once that was done the whole thing was spraypainted with a nice bold RED.

The earpieces are actually watch batteries with hard rigid plastic cut to shape (I used an old credit card, lol)
Finally, the chest logo is just printed and glued on.
