For the badge stand, I captured the badge from the police web site, resized it, printed in BW, then used Lexell (from the hardware store) to glue it to the UNDERSIDE of a sheet of clear acrylic (from Home Depot). Looking through the sheet, I "traced" with thin layers of paint and Sharpie, both acrylic and Testors silver. Soon the lines were raised enough I could freehand the finish. Then edged it with Ultramarine blue.
