Lythos, The Rock Titan from Disney's Hercules! This figure was the third in a set of 4 I wanted to create from the movie. He is also a boss battle in the Kingdom Hearts series. I began with a wooden skeleton and then used baking clay and airdry clay for the rocks that make up his body. You will notice that this figure bears some resemblance to the movie, but much has changed, especially around his torso. I did this on purpose for a few reasons. The first is that, like all of the titans, his scale actually changes from scene to scene. The second reason is that I wanted a more gorilla look to him, which is one reason his arms are a little longer rather than more bulky. You will also notice a stand was needed under his feet. The stand is in place because the skeleton partially melted. Lythos has eight home-made joints. The first set can be found in his wrists, where I used the extra large arms that came with an old Iceman figure from 90's. These are rotating joints that were formerly ball joints. I just limited their range of motion. The elbows have swivel joints. The shoulders are swivel joints as well, but there is a neodymium magnet holding the arms together that allow greater range of motion over the basic swivel joint. The final two points of articulation can be found in the necks of each head. The heads can lift from the titan's core, giving the figure a grand height of 11 inches. This figure also comes with a smashed Greek temple. As always, it is not nearly professional and was made just for fun. I hope you enjoy it!
