This is Stratos, the Wind Titan from Disney's Hercules. This is one of four Titans that I decided to create and was the first one I started with. I used a dollar store margarita cup as its skeleton and then used model magic to keep it light-weight. There are steel ball-bearing on the inside to give it some inertial stability. The black wire on the outside is just craft wire. The arms are each 9.5 inches long, giving Stratos an incredible 24.5 in wingspan. As with all of the Titans, their body shape actually changes from scene to scene given it was from an animated movie. Stratos also is drawn very differently. With the figure, I decided to show the mouth, as seen when he is introduced. I also included the arms and that scene and used screws to indicate tornado-like fingers. The arms have two home-made joints in them which act like ball joints using steel balls and large neodymium magnets. This gives the arms almost full range of motion. The difficulty is that even the magnets couldn't hold the arms properly, so wire was used as a form of 'muscle' to keep the arms' position. There are openings at the end of each 'hand' to allow things to be 'sucked' inside. This figure also included a tiny Greek temple which is being destroyed by wind, as seen in the movie during his introduction (Goat not included). As with all of my figures, it was made for fun and is in no way professional. I hope you enjoy it!
