This is my first experiment with LEDs in action figures and I think it went smoothly. Just cracked him open, dremeled out some room, and popped in an LED and a small battery. I soldered in a toggle switch so the light stays on or off. I guess you could go with a tactile switch if you intended on creating a play feature but the toggle is better for display. The figure is a combination of the two movie figures: I wanted the articulation in the wrists and the removable armor so I simply swapped the arms. Check it out.

Thanks for the compliment. In answer to your question, putting him back together was pretty easy. The two halves of the torso just kind of snapped back into place. Probably because I didn't mutilate the body too bad when I initially cracked him open. I don't really know if there's a trick to cracking the hard plastic bodies. I just took my time and worked a blade around the seam. From there I used a screwdriver to gently pry the halves apart.
Looks like your patience paid off.

That is a great effect. Was it a pain putting him back together after adding the LED?

Nice! they also have push buttons, but are hard to find.
V.P. used to have a tut on wiring lights.
I know because when I started doing lights he asked if it was from his Tuts.
By the way whatever happened to V.P.? I should email Brian.

Thanks for the comment. I'll see what I can do about a tutorial, maybe I'll just have to start another project.
