Andres Bonifacio, known as the Father of the Katipunan, was a Filipino Revolutionary from Tondo, Manila. After years of self-study, including the reading of national hero Jose Rizal's socio-politically conscious novels, he decided to help take a stand against the abuses of the Spanish colonial government by joining Rizal's La Liga Filipina. Four days after the Liga's inception, Rizal was arrested. That day, Bonifacio founded the KKK, or Kataastaasang Kagalanggalangang Katipunan ng Mga Anak ng Bayan (Most High, Most Honorable, Society of the Sons of the People). After a year of fighting Spaniards, Bonifacio was called to the province of Cavite, supposedly to settle a political dispute. Soon after, he was betrayed, maneuvered out of power and ordered shot by General Emilio Aguinaldo.
This guy has been in the pipeline for a while now. I did an Andres Bonifacio figure a while back, but the base I used had crap articulation. So which figure line do you go to when you need articulation? In the words of many PSAs, G.I. JOOOOOOE!!! I based the figure off the likeness of Robin Padilla in the movie Bonifacio: Ang Unang Pangulo. I used Storm Shadow's body (but painted over the Cobra insignia), Joe Colton's arms and legs (I painted his legs red) and Marvel Universe Punisher's head. The look I was going for was the scowl (known to Filipinos as simangot) that Robin Padilla had in the movie. I then gave him Retaliation Kwinn's holster, a special itak (Filipino machete) made of a curved knife handle and the blade of a Gears of War rifle bayonet, a "captured" Dragon models Mauser K98 (1800s Spaniards used an M93 Mauser, but the K98 is the closest available in that scale), and the revolver from my first Bonifacio figure.

Please wait...
