2 years ago I started Making the Company of Thorin Oakenshield by making Kili. At the time it seemed decent enough and it was my first custom uploaded here I believe. So whilst I was creating the final member Oin I started to work on some updates and Kili needed them. I swapped his head with a Jon Snow head as many others have used this and it works well and then I resculpted the hair frame I used already on the last head and sculpted the eyebrows and fringe to get the right look. Then I added from the coronation Gimli's cloak some details on the tunic and then sculpted the sleeve details using the same piece to indent the pattern and finally sculpted the fur at the bottom and did a repaint. I'm happy with the result and got a good likeness from him. I'm just making some minor changes to the oldest customs that I wasn't happy with. Thanks for having a new look, I will leave the original recipe below. I took a Lotr Eowyn in armour, kept the neck, upper arms and upper legs and removed the chainmail design using sand paper. The Boots are from a standard Borromir, the wrists are also Eowyn's but the elbows are sanded down to shorten the arms. The Tunic with a hood was made from a cloak from the Aragorn with Brego LOTR 3 figure and the coat is from a Guy of Gisbourne Robin Hood figure from the BBC tv series. The upper coat is cut from Faramirs cloak. The Quiver is a bent Uruk-hai Crossbowman's pouch with a TMNT sheath from Leonardo. The strap is a Borromirs belt with a dagger from the 3.75" Dwalin and Borromirs sword is used, with alterations and clay. The head is from a Sword Attack TTT's Aragorn (Helms Deep) with Eomer sword slashing action figure's hair. His belt is from a Legolas and the arros and bow also, though the bow has been reshaped, re-strung, shortened and has miliput clay for details as does his hair fringe. This took a couple of days hardwork sculpting and painting and I hope you like it, there is no other Kili custom so far and I made this in January this year roughly, but was too busy to upload it. He is about the same height as the Thorin Oakensheild figure, yes I know he is shorter, but he is a decent custom that I am happy with. Also included is Kili's rune stone, made from epoxy and overall the custom is painted with warhammer paint. Please wait... |
