So, I got this idea to start doing some heroic counterparts of classic DC villains on Earth-3, the world of the Crime Syndicate. First up, is a heroic equivalent of Professor Zoom the Reverse-Flash, whom I have dubbed Captain Zoom. Like his villainous counterpart from Earth-1, Captain Zoom is from the 25th Century, and he has traveled back in time to the present day to battle the Scarlet Speedster of Earth-3, Johnny Quick. I have theorized that his secret identity is also Eobarde Thawne, but this version of Eobarde is not just an enemy of Johnny Quick, but also his direct descendant, and he is a member of a team of heroes called the Secret Society of Super-Heroes.

The figure was a moderately easy piece to do. I took a DC Universe Classics Reverse-Flash figure and used the boil and pop method to remove the head. Next, I took some brush and roller cleaner to strip off the chest emblem and the lightning strips around his waist and forearms. With the body now completely yellow except for the boots, I used a DC Universe Classics Crime Syndicate 5 pack boxset Johnny Quick as a guide to mark off wear on the forearms the gloves would end. With the forearms marked off, I commenced a full repaint of the gloved areas of the forearms with Testors Model Masters Insignia Red, followed by two generous coats of flat clear. Once the gloves were dry, I next started work on the boots. In and of themselves, the boots were fine, they just needed the wings removed. Using my exacto knife, I clipped the wings off the boots and then sanded the portion of the boots where the wings attached. Next, I applied a little bit of Tamiya Putty Wite to the spot where the wings had been and once the putty dried, I sanded it smooth, followed by two generous coats of Testors Model Masters Insignia Red. Once the Insignia Red had dried, I gave the boots two generous coats of flat clear. Next, I took the head from a DC Universe Classics Crime Syndicate 5 pack boxset and repainted the red portions of the cowl with one coat of Testors Model Masters Cadmium Yellow as a base coat, followed by three coats of Testors Model Masters Insignia Yellow, and then one top coat of Testors Model Masters Cadmium Yellow. With the cowl now dry, I gave the lightning bolt wings two generous coats of Testors Model Masters Insignia Red. When the lightning bolt wings dried, I gave the entire head two generous coats of flat clear, and then used the boil and pop method to put the now completely painted Johnny Quick head onto the Reverse-Flash body.

With the body now fully assembled, I next started work on the symbol. To do the symbol, I drew by hand four lightning bolts which I glued in place on the figure's chest and back (the lightning bolts were made by hand at a larger size, and then photocopied and shrunk to proper size...however, unlike previous hand drawn symbols I had done before, this was made to partially resemble the lightning bolt symbol worn by the Silver Age Johnny Quick). When the glue dried, I gave the lightning bolts two generous coats of Testors Model Masters Insignia Red with my detail brush, followed by two generous coats of flat clear for the entire upper torso, and TA-DA...Captain Zoom, heroic Earth-3 counterpart of Professor Zoom the Reverse-Flash, member of the Secret Society of Super-Heroes, and arch-nemesis of Johnny Quick!!!
