Hey Realmers, so today were the results for the Hadouken contest and I am still in Street Fighter mode. Lol. Today I present to you a character that created the biggest Hoax and Prank in Street Fighter history. In 1992 Street Fighter II The World Warrior was one of the best and most popular games on the SNES console, it surpased others by a long shot. Sheng Long was created based on an assumption of the victory line said by Ryu when he defeated his opponents "You must defeat Sheng Long to stand a chance". Sheng Long was actually Ryu's finishing move and not a person. Sheng Long is actually a Chinese translation of Ryu's finishing move the Rising Dragon which is known as the Shoryuken. Everybody was under the assumption that Shen Long was supposed to be Ryu and Ken's Sensei. As an April Fool's prank Capcom and a video game publishing magazine company said that Sheng Long was a secret character that could be unlocked and seen as a boss at the final level of the game and replace M.Bison as the final Boss. Players were expected to beat the game without taking a single hit, then you would have to win the first round of the fight against Bison by Time Over. Many people attempted this but miserably failed. Lol. After the prank was over and made known, Capcom replaced Ryu's victory line with "You must defeat my Dragon Punch to stand a chance" to avoid anymore confusion. Sheng Long later was the influence for the creation of the characters Akuma and Gouken who is Ryu and Ken's Sensei. Sheng Long was the main reason as to why Street Fighter has some of the characters it has today. Sheng Long will always be a great part and also biggest Hoax in Street Fighter history.
