Sorry I'm not here as much work keeps me overly busy and customs are few and far as I spent way too much time on them. Sure I don't do much bet the paint & prep is extensive.
My new solution is several figures at the same time.
Any way it is a really good red however not easy to achieve for most.
See I'm that guy everyone knows of, my bosses boss who worked at Radio Shack says there is one of me at every job. I'm a Japanesimist!
A WHAT??? thats my word for someone with extensive knowledge of Japan and its inner working.
Although I am not sure what is going on between the U.S. & Japan but GeeJay may recall I am an avid Tamiya paint fan. However for nearly a year there was a shortage of their paint that is still somewhat prevalent. I now stock 3 of each primary color I use as a result. The reasons and explanations vary for why the shortage.
Any way the base red is by another Japanese company known as Gunze Sanyo and they make the Aqueous Hobby Color paints. This is the only company I have found that nakes a mettallic red.
Only problem is that airbrushed its pink. But hand painted is red.
So I did a little of both and then finished with an over coat of tamiya Clear red.
I think this is the best and closest Iron Man red that I have come across yet.
But good luck finding the metallic red as I have been told its not sold in the states anymore. But there are retailers out there. They also have a website if you wanna order.
They make a killer metallic blue/green also!
