Well this one took QUITE awhile - been working on it for several months now and just finished it today. If you've seen age of Ultron, you know Vision is easily the best new character. I've seen a few customs of him in his movie look but none that featured a textured look until recently when I saw a Man of Steel figure used as a base. Well, I wanted to match the movie look as best as I could so I used a mesh overlay to press the detail into the Apoxie Sculpt and it turned out great. Still had to do a tremendous amount of sculpting but in the end it's always worth the effort. So yes, the entire suit has been sculpted in very thin layers. One of the more challenging parts was the paint. The movie Vision suit has lots of subtle shading so what I did here was to base coat the suit in a hunter green with some medium red, light red, maroon, and silver highlights. I then went back and did a very light silver drybrush to blend or soften the different colors and to bring out the details of the sculpt. Throw in some golds and a mix of glossy blood red/silver for the boots, gloves, and head...a wee bit of purple on the face and VOILA! Movie VISION! Can't wait to show off the movie Black Panther and all the stinking commissions I've been working on. The cape came from a Sentry figure and plugs easily into the back peg hole so it can be removable. Vision retained ALL his original articulation as well As always, thanks so much for looking! He'll be on eBay within the next few hours. ![]() |
