It took the Justice League over 50 years to realize they needed a giant gorilla on their team. It took me seeing someone else talking about this NECA Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Luca figure once online to realize he'd be a nice base for Congorilla. And that's all he really is. But oh what fun it was trying to paint a black gorilla with different shades of orange, yellow, and gold. Really, everyone should try it.

Back in the Golden Age Congo Bill was given a magic ring that allowed him to transfer his consciousness into the body of a legendary golden gorilla. Years later, after the death of his human form, Congo Bill became trapped in the body of the gorilla. He eventually joined the Justice League when James Robinson took over the book. And while it wasn't a universally praised run, who wouldn't want a giant ape for their JL shelf?
