Man, there sure are a lot of Marvel Movie figures out there. A bunch of dumb ones with crappy articulation too. Somehow they keep ending up in my figure drawer! What the heck am I supposed to do with them all? I guess customize them. I have seen a lot of great Sauron customs my favorites use the medium MU buck. I think those are a tad bit more comic accurate IMO. Still I couldn't help but use the movie Lizard figure for this one. The sculpt on it is amazing even if the articulation is lacking. So pulling some inspiration from our fellow "realmers" i decided on using Lizard for my Sauron. I got a hold of a toy biz Sauron and transplanted the head onto the Lizard body. Same goes for the wings, but I tooled the wings down a bit to fit the stock Lizard arms. Added a piece onto the end of the tail and tooled his loin cloth from a movie Whiplash. I added some Apoxie sculpt to make all the additions smooth and flush. A little paint went a long way as I discovered all the various nooks and crannies you don't notice with the stock paint job. The base was pulled from a Hulk pvc and clear styrene with some fake plants added to give you that "Savage Land" feel. Dullcoted at the end of course. I had a blast making this figure it kinda just all came together. Finally I can cross this must have X-Villain off the list of to-dos!!! As always thanks for your support and inspiration FigureRealm!!! Sushi Out.. ![]() |
