I didn't do much to cap himself. I dry bushed some reddish brown onto his boots and gloves to give them the same weathered look as his belt and straps, then I cut off the extra belt that was hanging off of him to make it more stream lined and removed the stars on his shoulders since they only match up in one pose.

The shield however is from a Winter Soldier Captain America, repainted in it's traditional colors. Then I removed the plastic handles, attacked leather ones so that it's easier for him to hold and glued a magnet on so that he can wear it on the back.

All in all I'm quite happy with how he came out. Like Thor before him, I've never owned a real Captain America figure so I'm happy to finally have one. One of my first customs ever was turning a blue power ranger zeo into Captain America. That was over 15 years ago though. This one turned out much better.
