Just in time for Avengers: Age of Ultron, we have The Invincible Iron Man! I decided to start building this team when I found a Mk 42 Iron Man in CVS for only $5. I was never into the Marvel Legends line, they seemed too expensive and fragile to get into, but with the movie coming out soon, hype at an all time high and the cheap Iron Man base, I figured I'd give them a shot.

I started by going over Iron Man with some steel wool, then I scrubbed him down with soap and water. I used gold spray paint to cover him from head to toe, then went over him with a bright red mixed acrylic. I painted his eyes, chest and hand beam with white, then did a quick light blue dry brush to give it the appearance that it's lighting up. Finally I sealed him up with a gloss sealer to make him shine. I think I could have give him a slightly more complicated color scheme, but I'm pretty happy with how he came out. Frankly, I always thought the simpler Iron Man armor designs were the best. The Mk 43 looks pretty cool, but it also looks really busy.
