Mortal Kombat X is out! ...I still need to buy it. But, this week I wanted to fix up some MK characters to go along with it. And the first on my list was definitely Kenshi. I've always liked him and he was awesome in MK9. Was so excited to see he was going to be in MKX and involved in the story mode itself. But, pulling him together was quite the annoyance. Mortal Kombat characters look different in every single game, and then you have to take alternate costumes into consideration. I finally settled on a decent design, but I still ended up making my own variations to it for simplicity. The Cyclops figure was a perfect base since his one hand worked great for posing Kenshi in like in the game. I resculpted the entire figure, which was excessively tedious. The head was a cast that I either got from Vortious, or maybe StarWarsGeek. I can't remember. Same one I used for my Nightwing customs. Took the straps from a Deathstroke cast from AngelForge, then sculpted the rest of the band around his face. The final touch was the sword. I wanted to give him a psychic blade, as well, so I used the clear ones that came with Psylocke. Sit a little loose in his hand, but look great. The psychic blade is held great in the stand that came with those Gashapon DOA figures. Very happy with his final outcome.
