I cut the collar off the chest piece and glued it down, and cut off the belt and glued that down to his hips joint so that his chest joint was freed up for moving. Painted the look of the button-up peacoat directly onto the body that was beneath it. The plastic chest piece was just bugging me, basically. Oh and his face was painted pretty crappy, like the factory stamper was off a millimeter, and blue instead of black, so I fixed all that too.
