Hello friends! This is my re-imagining of MOLTAR's minions, the Lava-men!! This Lava man was made using a ML movie human torch base figure. The torso, left shoulder, back of the head and boots were all sculpted over to create a molten rock texture. I used a guitar pick to shape the rocks and make indentations. Once the rock patterns were done, I painted the sculpt in orange and then dry brushed the black over the raised bits. OK this isn't the most complicated custom, or the most accurate, but the original design basically looked like a sponge-man or something rather than a lava creature. I opted to go with something a little more imaginative. Anyway,the base figure came with these awesome flames on him so I cut some of those up and repositioned them. Oh! Also, the figure has a light up feature which I left untouched so the head lights up red when you push a button on his back! I'm pleased with how this turned out. What do you guys think?
