When I first learned of Project Superpowers, one character stood out above any other. The Death Defying Devil. But, being as I didn't know where to get boomerangs at the time, I put him off. Originally, he was known as Daredevil back in the Golden Age. And, being as the characters are all still in the public domain, he has also appeared in a few issues of Savage Dragon recently. It's really interesting where public domain characters pop up. You know those one shot characters that show up, fight the hero, and disappear, never to be seen again? Probably just a public domain character the writer grabbed to not waste too much thought on a 20 page one shot. For creation, he was overall a straight repaint. I smoothed over the front of the Cap belt, and used toothpicks for all the spikes. The head itself came from a GI Joe 25th Anniversary Destro, my absolute favorite bald head these days. Seriously, I'm practically grabbing them in bulk now. I was stuck on the boomerangs, but finally gave up trying to find some and just made them myself. I was expecting them to be problematic, but they actually came out perfectly in the end.
