With all due respect to NECA, their Chair Suit engineer looks boring. I was convinced that the problem was in the dull, inaccurate black paint apps, so the first thing I did with my figure was a repaint.

So, I repainted him with ivory drybrushing and lots of green, blue and sepia washes. Now the beautiful sculpt is much better highlighted IMHO.

Now it was accurate to the movie, but I was still unsatisfied. I didn’t like the fact that in the movie, the engineer crew didn’t have any weapons, so I made one up.

I thought “So these guys have a liquid that can rebuild or destroy one’s DNA in an instant (in the “Fire and Stone” comic it’s called ‘the Accelerant’). Why not use this tech in weapons?” I took some artworks (“New-York”, “Dune” etc.) by late H.R.Giger and designed a weapon which used the Accelerant, inspired by those arts. This weapon (simply ‘the Accelerant Gun’) shoots bursts of black liquid into victims and can cause directed mutations (mental enslavement, for instance) or complete destruction of any biomass. The AG consists of a backpack (the black sphere is a vial of Accelerant), a tube and a barrel which programs and shoots the liquid.
The tube is a wire from an old headphone, everything else is Greenstuff.

Then I decided to add some depth to the figure and made the helmet removable by using a severed Engineer head from NECA Deacon. I used the recipe by Delta T (thanks a lot, dude). The original balljoint works perfectly with the Pressure Suit Engineer's head, so it's as articulate as ever. I’ve also added some inner helmet details (accurate to the movie) and resculpted the lenses to remove the decay effect.

NOW I’m happy with the figure =)
