Anyone who's anyone remembers playing the old coin-op machine Alien vs Predator. The main playable characters were Predator Warrior, Predator Hunter, Lt. Lynn Kurosawa, and Maj Alan Dutch Schaffer (a clone of the original Dutch). During one of the levels in the game your characters encounter a 3rd Predator who has been 'infected' with an alien embryo. As a result, he attacks you to provoke you to defeat him in combat so that he can destroy himself honorably by suicide by dagger. He is simply called "Mad" Predator. He attacks your character with rapid plasma blasts and hand to hand combat while cloaking to throw you off balance. He's quite a brute. I always invisioned him awakening to realize he was laying near a dead face hugger and realizing that he has a xenomorph embryo inside him, thus causing him to become enraged to seek you out to provide him a means of killing himself by honorable loss in battle. To me, this guy is very much a 'cranky pants' because he's so angry he attacks his own clan brothers...not to mention most predators are aggressive and angry in hand to hand combat. Hes the character you root for, but always seems to lose...
The recipe was simple. It was a NECA Jungle Hunter open mouth head, jungle hunter arms, city hunter torso, lost tribe crotch with jungle hunter legs, modded crotch armor to work with the p2 crotch assembly, transplanted p1 chest armor and cannon, and a complete paint job done in a realistic style. His plasma blast was made by taking a q tip and fraying the edges then coating in super glue. It is removeable. The dagger, as seen in the mini screen cap, was made by trimming the weapon that comes with the 'lost' predator. I wanted to make a version of him that could be believable if he was on screen. The face hugger and tube were done by a fellow artist and friend of mine. Anyway, hope you guys enjoy !
Yes I always liked the character and wanted to do him justice. John mallamas said he wanted to see my take on these preds from the game so here's the first one.
COOL! Makes me want to play that game again! I'm always impressed with customizers who can repaint those NECA Pred figs, the level of detail in them is tough to paint and make look as good as factory. Great Job!
Yea the game really is a blast. If you'd like to see more preds I've done just click my name. I also have a fb page you can follow. CYCLONE06's Customs&Artwork
