This is NIVE. His name is an acronym for Nexus of Intense Verdant Energy. His wife hates it. She says nobody knows how to pronounce it and he'll have to explain to people that it rhymes with "five." Who wants to deal with that? Also, she claims it's too close to his real name, spelled backwards. Evan Reed is a high school English teacher who woke up one day without the need to eat or sleep, Now powered by and able to control green light, he soon realizes he has become stronger and faster than any human has the right to be. While he does not know the source of these powers (though he has a few theories (and I, as his creator, know which is right)) he recognizes that they have given him the unique skill set to live out the childhood fantasy of thousands of kids: to fight crime like a super hero. After a strange moment with the green lights on a Halloween decoration in his house, he commits himself to understanding more about how to use his abilities. With an altered Spider-Man mask, a running jacket, and trip to an army supply surplus store, he puts together a costume and takes green glow sticks (the cheapest and most versatile form of portable green light) along each night, using them to create plasmic lasers he calls "beam blades."
As he delves deeper and deeper into the world of gang activity and realizes one of his own beloved students may be involved, he struggles to abide by the pact he made with his wife when these powers first came into their lives. She agreed to support him in using them make a positive impact on the world, but can he do that without breaking her trust and putting himself in situations that even a super-powered individual can't hope to handle?

This is a custom that is an extension of a character I have been writing about in my head and on paper for almost 15 years. He is largely based on. My own life, and I've written portions of a graphic novel set in the real world, attempting to keep it as grounded as possible. I made a different figure of him several years ago, but it was a Black Panther body and I felt he was over muscled. (I will upload him some day). So, I created this figure just for this contest and am really excited to share him with the world.

The recipe is a Longshot body with Bullseye appendages, and a Ronin head, plenty of coats of paint, and some reworked swords for his glow stick / beam blade weapons.
