Even as a kid, I couldn't understand how Playmates had failed so hard on their Shredder figures. After seeing the release of the Comic Book-style TMNT last year, I knew I had to make a Shredder to go with them.

Obviously, I started with an original Shredder toy, sculpted over some of the weird anatomically-impossible lumps and muscles in his abs and back, and resculpted his helmet and face shield. I added a real cloth loincloth-thing and wrapped his abs with masking tape, which was painted with super glue to set in place. After a paintjob with a heavy black "wash", the Shredder I wanted was alive.

He still can only be posed that one way though.
