Since Metroid Prime Trilogy was recently released on the Wii U, I wanted to do something honoring those amazing games, so I crafted a Phazon Suit for Samus! This is almost strictly JUST a repaint, giving a cool black and red motif, with details picked out in white and grey. I've done a few paint washes to really try to flesh out the panel lines in her sculpt work. As for her beam, I wanted to find some way to do the Phazon beam effect to some degree. I debated sculpting some blasts, or something to that effect, but I felt like mixing up apoxie sculpt would be too cumbersome for such a small feat, so ultimately I ended up melting a plastic straw to make a kind of Phazon beam effect! Interestingly enough, the tutorial for that beam effect came right from figure realms itself!
