Doom once devised a time machine that transported ol Shell head and himself back to the Camelot days. On another expedition, Doom made a trip to the future, in another dimension while rematerializing, and brought back a Doombot with advanced technology. It was no Terminator, but sure did have hell of a lot of gung-ho!
Converting a Spider-man Beetle figure, some minor sculpt work was done to make the armor more robotic looking. For the abs section, wanted to create a network of wires and machine parts, so opened up a regular calculator and found a flexible grid sheet that was cut to fit the abdominal and back area. The sheet had these computer-looking lines on it that was perfect for that cyborg look. The detachable jet-glider came from a Japanese toy figure accessory - some modifications were made to allow the wings to fold and its been re-painted to appear more mechanical.
This Doombot was made the way Doom would've wanted his robots, which means armed to the teeth with supernatural fire power! Equipped with a satellite laser cannon that pivots and a mutagenic weapon of mass destruction, these parts were originally from a Voltron toy and have been modified to fit easily on the back. All parts have been repainted using acrylic and metallic colors. The head originally came from the mask of a Riddick Lord Marshall figure and it's been resculpted into Doom's likeness. The jaw was extended and modified to allow the anti-matter missile (built from scratch) to fit inside and appear as though it's launching from its mouth. This figure is an original design and was tremendously fun to build.
