hey everyone, my xmas pressy from the gf was some TF:AOE Dinobots... but um.... they werent the colours i was expecting?! so i done a complete repaint i didn't go for movie accurate but just paint it how i wanted base-black 1st-dark grey 2nd-dark metallic silver 3rd-painted gold, broze and copper bits 4th-silver dry brush effect. 5th-yellowy brown wash 6th-brown sponged 7th- red/brown sponged then painted the eyes blue thanks for looking and happy new year ![]() |

Btw, what type of paints did you use?
the short answer I use acrylics mainly 'Tamiya' but I got a few 'vallejo' I'm slowly changing to vallejo as I think they are much better quality wise but thats just IMO.
the long answer....
I used acrylics on these, not sure if they're the best option durability wise but I don't intend to play with them just display with minimal transformations. I still got most of my earlier tf customs that are still in great shape paint wise next to no joint rubbing etc.
I have used enamels in the past but they always remained slightly sticky and tacky especially on rubber parts which the A.O.E TF's have got quite a few main bits that are rubber (tails, horns, weapons etc). maybe I done something wrong but since then I've always used acrylics.
