Continuing with the Rankin Bass Hobbit figures for my good friend Louis, is, to quote Gandalf, "...the final member of our Company...Thorin Oakenshield."

Thorin is made from a 111th Birthday Bilbo figure from the old ToyBiz line of LOTR figures. Basically turned Bilbo's existing jacket around to make the tunic, sculpted the boots, golden belt decor, and then moved to the head. I sculpted the face first then added a modified cloak from a Kobe Bryant NBA Heroes figure, then sculpted the beard. Once finished, I made his sword from a DCUC Bronze Tiger's sword (shortened and then modifed with sculpt). After that it was just paintwork.

So far, Louis has Bilbo, Gandalf, Thorin (Once I ship him out), and then I believe we have Bard next, then the Goblin King, and Gollum after that. I have to say these have been a blast to make!
